Want to experiment with Android dev. For fun want to create a chatting app. Can some of you point me to some good GitHub repos with examples, and some documents to read up. I am a novice to this, and I can't identify good from bad yet so help would be appreciated

Those would be huge, not POC stuff, right?
They have a lot of complex features, need to somehow extract the core parts.
