I just deactivated my account but kept messenger going. I deactivated Instagram also it’s pretty refreshing.
Here's what I did. I unfollow people that I've never talked to in X years, and people who post more than once a week. Soon enough my feed become much quieter, and I seldom find my self on FB
first step: Turned off notifications Second step moved app to last page of apps.
I still like to get event invites and connect to people, so I don’t deactivate mine. However, what I have done is block facebook.com OS-wide on my iPhone as well as uninstall the app and block the domain on my laptop/desktop. That way I’m not tempted to constantly be checking Facebook
