How to find a mentor?

I am switching into computer science/software engineering and pursuing a degree. I am also learning programming on my own and sometimes I get stuck or feel demotivated or wonder if cs is really for me. I think having a women mentor to talk to or someone who can guide me in this transition and help me a little will be really helpful. How should I go about finding one? Anyone woman on blind interested in helping another get into cs?

Don’t look for a mentor. Women are always being asked to be mentors (by men and women) because women are expected to be nice and do unpaid work. Instead, look for a great boss who will invest in your career.

I’ve been working since I was 12. That’s the path to success. No one owes you anything until you produce something yourself. Ditch the sense of entitlement and get to work.

Get on linked in. Message women who are in your network and get them to introduce you to other women.
