Hello, I'm new to Blind, and am not really a part of any other communities like this. I'm currently having trouble understanding my career path, and believe that finding mentorship would be extremely helpful. I'm splitting myself between product development and raw SE at the moment. I think that I want to position myself as a CTO or technical co-founder for a start-up, but I'm not sure. Located in NYC 4ish YOE (fractured)

I wouldn't consider Blind as a close knit community. More of an anonymous group. Having said that, I would suggest not to look for mentors. Definitely do not pay for it. Ask people out for coffee whose career path you liked. Ask good genuine questions about their career path and you will learn a lot more. Also, listen to podcasts. Try - how I built this.
