Hi, I am trying to land an interview at Netflix, in particular I am interested in this job: https://www.teamblind.com/jobs/63761493 I tried applying via LinkedIn, but alas:) Would much appreciate any pointers that could help me get an interview. Thank you! #engineering #software #interview @Netflix
I just interviewed with Netflix and it was awful. Total of 5 rounds of interviews, not interesting case scenarios like Google, just asking about your experience and having you recite your resume and accomplishments 100 times. I ended up making it to round 2, where the recruiter warned me that “the last interviewer is really tough and never smiles but don’t let that be off putting”. I’ve never interviewed with such a miserable person. I was already burnt out from so many rounds of interviews with them and so many to go, then you get someone that looks like they’ve never laughed or smiled a day in their life. He quizzed me on the “Netflix culture” videos that you can optionally watch when you’re learning about Netflix and wanted me to recite everything that was in the video. Round 0: 30 min zoom with recruiter, asks you pretty standard questions answers more about the role Round 1: 45 min zoom with hiring manager, asks about experience and some pop questions (what would you do in this situation etc) Round 2: 3 45min zoom with people on the team, asking the same types of questions over and over again as there is no collaboration between questions asked Round 3: 3 45min zoom with HR and partners Round 4/Final: 45min zoom with the hiring manager so that they can make a final decision. A huge fucking waste of time, FAANG should really pay you if they’re going to put you through so many rounds. They also take way too many people into the later rounds, hence needing you to meet with hiring manager again and taking around 2-3 months for the whole interview process.
What level and role? Did you feel you did well and were expecting an offer given you got till the final round or do you feel they interviewed most people for the later rounds as well?
? That sounds like a less stressful loop than having to do algorithms and Systen design lol.
