How to get interviews as a 3rd world citizen ?
Hey Great Blind community, I'm a 3rd world citizen (Egyptian) and I want to join FANG especially Google but what the hell should I put in my resume to get into any process ? Right before the pandemic I passed phone rounds for Amazon,Google (Feb 2020) and the processes stopped since then I couldn't join any process. I have +4 years of experience building web applications to survive + real open source contributions (new features / fixes) to many famous repos including some maintained by Google + complex personal projects (chatbots, streaming & video compressing services, websockets + CRON jobs, normal CRUDS)... I can get anything done. The things I don't have is that I've missed participating in ACM competitions + professional cloud certifications + referrals (tried to reach out to some SWEs but they all ghosted me). What should I do ? Keep leetcoding and pray I get into any process ? Earn GCP/AWS professional certifications ? Keep spamming SWEs and recruiters to refer me ? Can you pls advice if something you did and suddenly you get interviews for any position you apply for ? Thanks!.
Getting student visa in US, Canada is the only route that works right now.
Lots of folks from a specific third world country in FAANG. I don't think being from a third world country puts you back 🙂
Salam brother. The easiest way is to get admission from a graduate program (MS degree), get a student visa, and come here. Also, make sure to apply for assistantship. Once here, your chance will be much higher of landing interviews and working. Best of luck!

Can you connect again with the recruiters that you initially worked with? Reply to one of their old emails and ask if it there are any openings. Maybe link listings you’ve seen that you’re interested in.
Tried to do that many times.. they all ghost me. Even new recruiters reached out to me about some positions when I reply.. they ghost me!.
