How to get over jealousy
My flatmate recently got into FB and I am very jealous since then. How to get over this feeling of intense jealousy?
Find a loser flatmate like yourself

@ebabe you would accept a fb job offer in a heartbeat. OP needs to accept the truth and move on but needs to do something substantial. Every one is lucky, it's just that the time at which luck happens is different.
I turned down fb, as I got a higher level and TC elsewhere. I was very conflicted about the company and the security / scandals, leadership, it was not a good fit for me.
Make flatmate jealous of your wlb.

When I got a poor rank in IITJEE (entrance exam to IITs in India) and my best friends got under 1000 ranks this is what my Dad told him (and something that has stuck with me ever since)- “Your success at any point in life depends on how much effort you put in 3-5 years before that, so JEE result is just a testament to how much effort you guys put in the past couple of years. Instead of getting jealous, analyze what they did differently “
All my Indian friends who went to IIT are naturally talented. What I feel is that they have a very fast learning curve for any new problem. You need to explain them just the abstract and they will figure out a beautiful solution.
Jealous because of his TC? I don’t understand the admiration FB has. Awful products for boring people.

Jack up the rent then but then since their TC will probably enable them to move out.

TBH this guy didn't appear very smart and is very arrogant and now I cannot stand his boastful advice on how to crack interviews. He is not SWE though.
Perhaps he just prepared well, smartness tells only half the story
