I accepted a new position at Salesforce. I have spent my entire career in sales at UPS (9yrs) and am currently in a leadership role. I have no idea how to put in my notice or what I should ask for since I have never done this before. What is the best way to approach this? Other info: “Official” Start Date at Salesforce is 4/23. But I don’t have to report until May 17 (I will probably report sooner, excited to get going). I have 8 unused days of vacation left at UPS. I paid for and ran 2 background checks on myself just to make sure there isn’t anything to be concerned about. Both came back clean. It bugs me that the background check at Salesforce might not come back for weeks. I’m a little nervous about putting in my notice at UPS and for whatever reason something falls through with Salesforce. Am I being too paranoid? #tech #sales
You could just wait for the background check to come back, then hand in your notice.
Wait for background to clear, hand in notice. Keep it short and too the point. Please accept this as notice of my resignation from “role” effective “date”. Thank you for your support over the last 9 years. Mic Drop

Come on, you are in a leadership role and you are worried how to turn down a notice?
What? Well I have had 0 turnover on my team in the 3 years I’ve been in the leadership role so yes- not a ton of experience in this area. And also I’m just nervous about putting in notice and something falls through at Salesforce.
