I left Amazon to join a well funded startup. Initial days were good, later the company started to fall apart as there was no concrete revenue model. Most of the good people including co-founders started leaving even without job offers. I was doing good in the company, even got promoted after which they moved me to a team which had a fuc**ll manager who least cared about the team. Never use to join scrum, cancels my 1:1 and says will schedule later and never does. He would talk to you only if there were escalations on some issues. He was least interested in companyโs work and was there just waiting fir offer from other company. My efforts and achievements went unnoticed by leadership and they decided to lay me off with other folks. I have started applying for many roles, but get stuck in some or the other round.(Mostly DSA). It has been 1.5 months now without any offers in hand and feeling exhausted by giving interviews all the time and eventually failing. The company has given me 3 months of severance and I feel this like a bomb ticking its count down. I have never seen such downfall in my career. Want to know from experience of others. How company treats you while interviewing if you have gaps in your resume? Is it normal to have gaps in your resume especially in India? How much time does it take to landup a new job? How to keep myself motivated? YOE: 6years TC: Nil
