I currently work at Deloitte. Started there 2.5 years ago. I have master degree in data science and 5 years of experience as data scientist and data analyst. I currently make 120k yearly (115 salary plus 5k bonus). Do you think I am fairly compensated? I program in SAS, Python and R at work. How I can increase my paycheck? Should move into management? Should PMP certificate help? Or move more into AI? Recruiters called me about 160k jobs but there were a lot of AI/ML things that I don't have experience with and don't know how to get this experience. What products do you think I can learn or which certificate to get? #datascience #dataanalytics #data
If you want to do ML, do it. Find ways to do it at work, learn it on your own and just take the interviews you can, whatever you need to do. If you don't, there are plenty of high paying product DS roles. You can still make 300-450k as an IC in this work, but the bar for product sense is pretty high.
It depends on what region you are based out of. In the Research Triangle Park area of NC, 120k is in-line for TC for our data scientists. For the West Coast that would be way low in compensation.

Get into economic/litigation consulting.
Apply at Meta when they start hiring again. Super low DS bar and you start at like $250k.
I know you don’t have a crystal ball but Do you think meta will start hiring in Q2-2023? Also any tips for cracking DS at meta ? Thank you
[EDIT] Sis, sorry to say but you are a Business Analyst not a Data Scientist.
I'm not a bro. I am female (don't think it's relevant to my question though)
Ok start with getting up to speed with DS fundamentals: here’s a good book easy to read: Practical statistics for Data Scientist from Oreilly.
Isn’t the whole point of consulting to make connections for exit oops? I would reach out to people in your network.
If you’re an expert in SQL and have product sense / communication skills you can make 200-300k+ as a product “data scientist” with 0 ML skills at big tech companies
Is there a website/ resources to learn product analytics/ experimentation etc
Not sure sorry. I learned everything on the job

B grateful that you have a job in such a bad market.
Hey! Can you get your shitty service out of every new car sold in America? Why do I have to have a baked-in menu for your crap in my infotainment?
I also love that they call you every day for a month once the free trial expires
