I started contributing to 401K recently and traditional IRA. I use fidelity so have limited investment options there for 401K. I think I can also open Roth IRA for post tax contributions that has tax free withdrawal after 59.5 years of age, is this recommended or invest in stocks instead? Also what other options you have to maximize your savings? #personalfinance #investments #retirement #401k #ira #fidelityinvestments #fidelity
If you didn’t contribute to much to your 401k, please start doing and try to maximize that. You can also use your brokerage accounts for retirement (like sadly I have todo because I started late in the 401k)
What about HSA? On top of maxing out 401k accounts, I max that out for tax savings
The slide that suggests to withdraw from Roth first then Pre-tax 401k second is incorrect. You’ll be forced to withdraw pre-tax 401k through RMDs, govt wants its money. Save the Roth for last, it’s pure gold. Will continue to compound and grow tax free, and is a great way to pass money on to your heirs tax free too!
Great slide deck and public service!
