I did some Roth conversion last year and got the form 1099-R from Vanguard. Now how do I pay the tax on the conversion? I looked it up online but did not find a clear answer. Do I pay the tax directly on the IRS website? #tax #irs
You don't owe anything if it is from a traditional IRA and within the limit. Look into backdoor Roth.

You punch it into your tax software and it gets paid as part of your regular 2022 income tax return. Your bill will be bigger, or refund smaller.
If you have a net payment due and are e-filing, IRS direct pay via the IRS web site is the best way to go if you are coming out of an account that does ACH. They also take paper checks, or if you want miles/points you can pay via a 3rd party processor with a convenience charge (rarely worth the 2% or so)
