From technology perspective, Microsoft process is same as Amazon with more focus on the coding and less on the design comparatively. As you have applied for management role, you'll be more grilled on the delivery side with strong emphasis on the maintaining team culture and balance. Growth mindset, and how you take failure and still work happily for next goal is other thing where you will be tested. Your domain knowledge and perspective on the enterprise business will also be tested. Just be relaxed and natural in case of tough questions around these area and rest will fall good :) Best of luck!

In the interview panel, I’ve three principal group managers and one DE. Do they still grill on coding? Can recruiter be able to help to narrow down the scope?

PGM are actually called GEM (principal group engineering manager). They are great at coding interviews. But their emphasis will be to extract your strong points around coding and other NFR perspective. Basically they'll be trying to gauge which team you will be more suited and will be forming base of your profile. It's very important. IMO they'll hardly try to eliminate. You just try to emphasize your strong points in those conversations with your actions and answers. You'll be having minimum 2 initial rounds and if at least one is good then 3rd and 4th. Microsoft goes for you and not against you. So important is you help them take you forward :)

You'll have to pass the senior engineer bar most likely, but probably only one interviewer in the loop will focus on coding
