Love the community here and I’m seeking advice. I’m currently a Demand Generation Rep and I’m looking to really take my #sales skills and acumen to the next level. I’ll be looking to get into a full sales cycle #ae role in 2024. I consistently hit quota and watch YouTube vids for learning but I truly need a mentor or training program to have the utmost confidence in running a sales cycle. I’ve been in tech sales for 2 years and previous sales for 3 years. I don’t feel like I’m incapable BUT I truly want to be one of the best! And if I’m being honest with myself I know there’s a lot of room for growth. My question to the broader audience is , What do you think really separated you from your counterparts? Do you have a consistent process for running customer calls and how did you build this process? Any courses you suggest I take a look at for development or coaching? what daily habits should I focus on to help myself grow as a sales professional? TC - 150
Also a DGR. Curious to hear whether you intend on staying in sales long term? Most of the other DGs I talk to want out which can be discouraging. I’ve looked at other careers and feel tech sales is really hard to beat.
Why do you say so that’s it’s hard to beat?
I plan on being in sales long term, it’s definitely a grind but I enjoy it. DGR is the lowest level of sales and often times the most challenging. Looking to get out of the role asap
Move to AE asap. Then you get more experience carrying quota. Most of sales is experience, grinding, and being consistent. No quitting. Money will follow. Be curious and empathetic, those are are some of the top traits for good sellers. You are helping the customer, not selling…
