I have a barbell and weights going up to 200 lbs. Upper body training is not a problem; I can do weighted pull ups, weighted dips, and strict press. Sometimes DB bench. Lower body training is difficult because I would rather not do endless reps. I have recently started doing split squats and am a long way away from 200 lbs on that exercise. Any other suggestions? Edit: Plenty of great suggestions in the comments; thanks to everyone who contributed! TC: 180K
Paused squats, one legged RDL
Do DB deadlifts. Start with little weight and focus on your posture. It will work your entire lower body and your chest and back
Cleans, deadlifts, squats,
one legged squat can be done without an additional hw. put your one leg on a chair and do a squat with the other leg.
These are great
Why don't you go to a gym?
buy more plates?
OP is practicing frugality.
I would love to buy more plates but I'm not sure how safe it would be since I live on the 6th floor of an apartment building. The local building code mandates that floors must tolerate a live load of 40 lbs per square foot. I'm already above that when all the weight plus my bodyweight is concentrated in a small area.
Power cleans, hang cleans, front squats, BB lunges, pause squats, BB step ups.
You can do slow eccentric or paused squats
Bulgarian Split Squats 🥴
Oh, this is a good one. Tried it with tiny dumbbells just now and I'm wincing at the thought of doing a proper working set.
