Just saw this post on X, is there any true to it? It may stronghold some companies until they get their apps migrated to Angular, Vue or any of the novelty JS frameworks, if they choose to do so. #react #meta #facebook @facebook @meta https://x.com/citycoderus/status/1739701760736801140?s=46
Yay kill react lol
1. It just reads like clickbait/karma farming 2. A lot of react dev has been taken on by Vercel, and I am 100% certain that Vercel would take on react/fork react if something happened
Front end sucks. Just going back to vanilla JavaScript.
its almost 2024 and such garbage opinions still remain
Just from the open source point of view, it won't have any impact. Some other company/group will step in and continue the open source fork. Just like OpenSearch(After Elastic Search licensing changes) or OpenJDK(After Oracle's Java licensing changes)
As if anyone cares about react, some other framework will replace it in less than 6 months, there's no such thing as permanence when it comes to FE
Some companies move pretty slowly, just ask UPS. If one of those companies is on their way to implement react or already has a big platform built on it then it may take some time for them to pivot.
??? There's no reason for teams to move off react until it gets deprecated by the team itself. Unfortunately I know many teams still working with older react versions, jQuery, redux, etc. simply because migrating to other technologies would be too much work
