I am planning a move to India next year. Does anyone have insights on the interview experience in India as compared to the US in terms of number of rounds, difficulty level, focus areas etc? I understand it's a broad question but I want to know if I still need to grind a lot of leetcode and appear for mock interviews, or are the interviews in India easier/differently focussed as compared to US? Imo US companies pay a lot more attention to communication amd culture fit as compared to India. Is there anything else on similar lines? This is for data scientist and ML roles.

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
If you have leetcoders here, India has power leetcoders. Another problem there is, they expect you to give the solution they knew (probably same here too). Also too much competition.
So do you suggest I grind even more leetcode?
Yes OP, getting a job in India specifically in FAANG or similar companies are far more difficult then US.
Did the same. AMA
Also, there is a major school brand name bias issue in India.
Yep .aka caste system in jerbs.
Agreed
Caste system
Plus language/state system
Like others have said, getting decent jobs is definitely harder in India. You know how many people on Blind laugh about Amazon's low hiring bar compared to FNG ? I have interviewed at Amazon multiple times in India & have only encountered LC upper tier Mediums & Hards.
You should thank your stars u didnt get in.
If it's that bad, why aren't you GTFOing ?
DM'd you.
