Currently at MSFT doing iOS stuff....been thinking about moving internally as well but the opportunities for iOS seems kinda limited within the company...especially in the current market. Is Apple necessarily the best company for iOS devs? over some other mobile-first companies like Uber, Meta, etc. I want to focus on learning/career growth for the next few years over just the TC. I heard Apple is very very team/org dependent, sometimes with limited internal mobility (to other teams) and not-so-fast growth (I’m mainly considering consumer facing apps/teams like Siri, AMP and stuff). I'm also thinking some teams could use older tech (e.g. more Objective C over Swift) because some products/teams have been there since iOS was born. Not so easy to find iOS dev stories at Apple here on Blind, any inputs would be appreciated, thanks :) ! YOE: 2.5 TC: 🥜🥜 (145k cad) #apple #ios #mobile
Bad, they prefer Android
😅😅😅
There are tons of shitty teams, and everyone uses different architecture. It’s irrelevant that Apple is best or worst for iOS devs. It’s important what team you’re joining. Plus, lots of stress during iOS releases and very stingy
Hmm right....yeah that was the impression I got as well...that it's very important what team you're joining (moreso than at other companies). Haven't thought about the last part but that makes sense too lol
