How’s working at BNY? I just got off the phone and their benefits were great. Base is around 200k plus a 25% bonus… for a bank, this seems pretty good. TC would be ~300k if I get some equity. I want to know about layoofs and culture there #bny

Depends on the team but not a great company. Lots of bureaucracy and devs are a dime a dozen (tons of outsourced devs) Culture is good for a bank - 2 days required in office per week, good benefits and a largely chill culture. Compared to tech or tech-adjacent companies BNY is garbage Also, unless your an MD or senior director your most likely not getting equity. I wouldn't take it unless you have no other option
So culture is good, lay is good, good benefits, but don’t tKe it? Am I missing something?
It's relative. BNYs Culture and benefits are good, relative to banks (JPM, Blackrock, Goldman). But not good compared to most companies. But their pay is one of the lowest in finance so keep that in mind. Financial services as a whole Is not a great place to be as a dev. I would only accept the BNY offer if you havent got any others Tldr: Ok place to work if you like financial services but you can do much better (even at BNYs competition)
