Opinions on Goldman Sachs in general and the SLC offices?
What specifically are you asking about?
General culture, if employees hate their lives or not, the usual stuff
We work closely with a couple of teams in SLC. It really depends on the team. My colleagues over in SLC definitely don't hate their life though. As with most things, the more critical the team's projects, the more pressure and therefore more hours. Many, many employees over in SLC are not Utah natives but relocated. This seems to enrich the culture because they all seem to do stuff together.
I have a friend that worked there, it's very much a secondary office, nothing interesting and no one cares about you
I know someone who worked there and then transferred to NY. The impression I get is it's just a low cost office that doesn't provide the same career advancement as the main offices. But SLC is chill.
SLC office does have some asset management, but yeah, the people there couldn't get offers in the NYC office.
Or just locals who don't want to move to NYC
Total lies, SLC is the 2nd largest office of GS. That being said, many people move to NY with great offers.
looked down as same as bengalaru office
Been told it's the back office and PWC office. No IB/ST of course.
