Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
Hi everyone, I want to understand how's work culture at LinkedIn for Software Engineer roles. How can we compare it with that of Amazon's culture in a more generic way? Does LinkedIn have pip culture as well? #linkedin #software #culture #officelife #workplace
Very process oriented for the work that happens. Focus on unnecessary things related to process, rather than product.
Pip is reserved for the people that somehow slipped through the interview gap and just can't do the work at all, personally witnessed 2 who simply can't execute or ask for the right help.
where are they now. still in swe?
No, gone after a long process
Otherwise we are too promotion driven, you have go fight with people that love to lead you and steal credit, worse is their manager helping them to steal credit. Did I mention there are bad managers here? We give too much power to managers so if you encounter one, you are helpless. I have only met 3 bad manager in my few years here, so not rare or common, just enough to screw with you
How's web at LinkedIn?
It's doc driven like google. Early career Promo will be faster due to inflated titles. Pip isn't required like amazon. Uncertain Refreshers and lack of interesting work on certain teams (too many people, not enough work which is opposite of Amazon) can be a concern. Better compared to amazon in everything else pretty much
Dude, just click on ‘LinkedIn 4.2’ right below OP. Read away
On a serious note, except for some politics and general ‘slowness’, it’s a great place. Initial grant is great, follow up refreshers aren’t.
