How’s Silicon Valley Bank?? Expecting an offer
Interview feedback is great and expecting an offer from them. How’s the culture and growth opportunities ?? With current economic uncertainty and recession fears, how are things internally?? Any layoffs?? Blind tax: 🥜🥜
As a company I've liked it. Finance content with more of a tech culture and hospitable working hours (at least for me). That said it's a bit chaotic and there's 2,763,567,874 problems to solve because they've grown so quick. Add thousands of employees (most of which are contractors) in a couple years and that's what you get. Be prepared to be on 5 calls all talking about the same problem, then you'll finally come up with a solution just to find out the executive committee just hired a team of McKinsey consultants to solve for said problem.
No layoffs will happen in '22, we're still hiring, but we've paired back our hiring #'s

Just wanted to put in my two cents, and hopefully more can chime in to see if this is their experience too. They gave me an offer, had to submit a ton of info for a background check, had a thorough background check, only to have the offer pulled because “all of their positions were put into HR as non exempt. So now they asked if I’d still be interested. It took two weeks for me to let me know that the position wouldn’t be ready until NEXT YEAR. Just be aware, that offer might not go through.
^ this...SVB HR is a massive hot mess staffed by mostly contractors with no formal processes. My interview and offer experience was ridiculous.
How long did it take to actually get your offer? I find it hard that having a huge hiring blitz that they somehow filed them all as non exempt. The team I interviewed with seemed good. The recruiters? Not so much.
As someone working on the GSO team, run. Run and never look back.
Toxic culture all around! I wouldn’t recommend it.
