Recruiter hit me up stating they are growing and have got handful of open positions in Data Analytics. So how’s the current outlook, did anyone recently interview with them ?
Uber freight is separate from Uber and they pay bands are way lower than Uber equivalent now.
Didn’t they must do a round of lay offs?
Yes, I remember, it was couple of months ago.
My friend likes it and Uber shares will go higher.
How’s the compensation like at UF ? Any insights ??
Gandu I find that unlikely. Compensation stayed the same for existing UF employees for everyone I know of, including keeping unvested Uber stock. That said there was just a big layoff, ELT doesn't seem very good, I don't believe they are growing, and I think new hire bands will be on the lower end. Join if you don't have a better offer yet.
Stay away. It’s not Uber any more. Leadership team says one thing and does opposite. Vision was to be tech first disruptors, but recent round of layoffs wiped out 25%+ of original Uber engineers and cross-functional teammates. And now “engineering” is leaning in on cheap app devs with a way lower bar. It’s no longer a tech company, just a logistics shipping company that is trying to sell snake oil.
Stay away. Sub par / average engineering. Nothing to learn here. Salary is also low.
After the latest layoffs, the bar has changed. Maybe right outcome for you if you like the team.
Tq all, for all of your comments. Will give it a try for interview experience.
It is still two separate companies with two very different cultures internally. If they are hiring technical roles it is probably with the old transplace company because the Uber side doesn’t have any openings. This means low quality Eng, product, and DS. You will not get the Uber experience at all.
Heard about Uber Freight going IPO in next couple of years, is it True?
Stay away… toxic ELT and CEO.
ELT?
