How's the leave and off time at eBay.
I'm currently interviewing with eBay but I've read some posts around, stating that no one can just simply take a day off if you are sick. At least at PayPal it's very relaxed in that regard, I've been taking or seeing taking days off just because someone is sick, they need to take their relatives somewhere or even an event from their kids happening. eBay doesn’t have official sick days and I took only one this year, updated my team. I was unaware that it comes under PTO at eBay. Next day manager pinged me and told me next time I need to mark it as Pto for sick day. Kind of sucks the way the manager followed up, given how many extra hours consistently I’ve put in
Surprised to hear this. In my team people just post on slack if they need a sick day off. That's it. No questions asked. Definitely no PTO for that

I don’t think I have an angel manager but I don’t fill PTO if I’m just sick for half day or so. I just take the doc appt or half day to rest as needed. this is basic.
lol, who said that? Maybe it depends on your manager and your rapport with them. I personally barely have ever recorded PTO officially and take them as needed.
Thanks, there are some comments floating around complaining about managers being too strict with such rules and apparently it's all because most of them are ex-amazon managers.
