I’m surprised it’s 2018 and we are using Skype VoIP to a center table multi-directional speaker phone which let’s be honest sounds no better than a landline speaker phone. When others are further away it’s hard to hear, i hear “wuh wah wubba lubba dub dub”. Having nice professional microphone(s) connected to a computer across an online service. Think radio station style audio. We have the hardware, we have the bandwidth. Yet we are still chopping the audio spectrum to the tin-can length spectrum. Just.. surprised and annoyed. Is it any better in the other companies? We have daily calls with our other offices so it’s a constant pain and I want to hear there’s hope!
Was at Facebook for years and used Bluejeans, which was an awesome and easy experience. Now at Uber and using Zoom - took a little getting used to, but extremely happy and think it's better than Bluejeans. Used Skype at another company last uear for 6 months and it was horrendous. No clue how/why any company would think that's acceptable with the other options out there.
We use Skype and it blows. Zoom sucked too for WebEx demos.
