Hubspot vs Snowflake TC wise snowflake is a no brainer. But team, work and culture of HubSpot was incredible. Also hubspot is remote forever and snowflake being hybrid. YOE: 5 Current TC: 170k + Outreach 🥜🥜 pre ipo stock For additional context both are Analytics roles. But hubspot being staff TC seemed low. #tech #offer #hubspotcompensation #snowflakecomputing #tc #competingoffer #compensation
Thats what i gathered in the interviews too. Snowflake def didnt seem like a great place to work long term. Team sounded a but clueless about what their focus/priorities are in near future as well. Hubspot was a lot more open, great people and loved learning about the work there too.
Snowflake is also getting their pie eaten by Databricks, stock value might drop in the next few years
20k pretax at this income level is really not going to make any tangible difference in your life. I don’t know anything about the potential growth of that equity, but I think you’re better off choosing happiness with a 20k haircut.
This
Are in LCOL? both seem like very low offers
Yup LCOL but this seems like typical TC currently for role in Data and Analytics. SWE roles are definitely much higher.
They both seem low for Staff level positions. I’d take happiness over slightly more money.
nothing will be remote forever. sorry bud
How was the interview at Hubspot ? How many rounds ?
Fun but very long. Took about 3 months for the full process. Standard sql and python assessment then followed by a super fun take home assessment that feels like free labor since its a whole project you need to work on within a week and then several STAR based interviews 6 people in total.
How many years of experience?
235k for Staff? What location? YoE?
LCOL, 5 YOE, This role is not SWE. It's for Analytics
Yoe?
Bad culture at Snowflake. No manager feedback system at all.
Same is HubSpot
@Hubspot interested to know more. I haven't been told that's the case during my interviews or even when specifically asked during follow up conversation post offer with the hiring manager.
