RTO was the last straw. Wasn't going to move to stay in my team and don't really care about anything else Amazon does. All these SaaS companies are starting to look cookie cutter to me anyway now. Thinking I could find some more fulfillment in robotics or factory automation. Parents think I'm crazy but I feel relieved. Never chasing TC again until I get my shit straight TC 200K->0

as someone interviewing for a SWE intern position, this makes me a little nervous haha
Nah you're good, go for it. Extremely valuable experience
Good for you man; life is too short to be miserable. TC is nice, but it can only go far for covering bullshit
Hi Mastercard, quick question, do you think all big payment processors (MC and Visa) is kinda like a bank more than a Tech company?
No, used to intern at Amex. Tech stack is def newer for card processors. Bigger scale
Preach!
Well done.

What's the deal with Amazon RTO? 3 days at office or 5 days at office? After 3 years of being at home, I find RTO a good change. But my commute is also 30 - 45 mins and I drive a self driving Tesla. Can't believe how much stress self driving takes out of the equation. I just joined the company and maybe I'm still in the honeymoon phase. LOL
I joined Amazon for a specific team, they said that team will be building out a branch out of my location. Fast forward a year, they said never mind you have to come to us or switch over to a different service team. Fook dat
How long ago did you join btw?
Would they have paid a severance if you made them fire you?
I'm not burning bridges over there, everyone was super nice. Wasn't their fault.
β¦ that wasnβt the question. π
