I personally worried there is a huge pay gap between the tech and non tech wages. I dnt mind what the fk others think but yes students should immediately start switching to tech degrees and increase the supply and reduce the demand so that these 500k to 1M salaries comes down.
Yea that way we can make the power law of wealth distribution even more severe smh
If fixing the gap is the goal here, When do we want to close the gap between NBA player and the non sport jobs?
When your millions generate billions. That's when. Sports people earn a fraction of what their effort and dedication generates through viewership. They're the top 1% and deserve to be paid that way. To think you want parity with that is insane to me.
We deserve to be laid that way too
It does not make sense at all in your comparison. Do you think the amount of workforce in tech and sports are the same?
This is not the way. The top performers will always make more because their skill sets are highly in demand and they are more efficient, effective, and more impactful than the people you are flooding the industry with. Ironically, it’ll make the pay gap even larger. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35565025
Classical economics assumes you have rational actors, when in the real world you don’t. Increasing the supply will have no effect when HR is regarded.
Wages already came down. The tech recession hasn't even started yet. Usually startups have 18-24 months of runway. Wait until they start running out of money
You're 5 years late, there's no more tech jobs for new grads.
Definitely not at large companies, as the market is oversaturated with new grads and it’s extremely hard to stand out from the crowd. But, new grands are empowered more than ever to deliver staff and it’s extremely easy to operate a new company if you have a great idea.
Did they really cut new grad hiring?
