I’m 65, have little more than $500,000 in cash, no ‘impressive’ work résumé and am terrified of investing — can I retire? I was told that this forum might provide better guidance than Reddit.
Assuming your net worth is only the 500k cash it's unlikely that it will be enough. Assuming you live in the US and a withdrawal rate of 4%. Should your cost of living be very low it still might be possible. Every model of retirement assumes criteria such as number of years left, cost of living, growth of investments, etc. Without further data about your circumstances it's hard to make any good predictions.
I own my home outright. But I won’t sell it. My kids can use it after I’m gone.
500k is cash.
He is trolling there are no 65 yo fb employees. Max age is 29.
You are fooled. He didn’t say 65 was his age
Woah nice find. Is OP trolling by copy pasting this question? Or is he genuinely asking in both places?
Good job. I thought it is a big decision. I should ask lot of people before taking it.
His username is also 65 😆
Celebrated my 65 birthday last week. My friends are calling me dude 65 now. I’m the oldest of the lot 😅
