I have got lot of hints that they are going to fire me , but manager wants me to train others and make them comfortable , what would you do in this situation? #tech #layoffs
What is your current role?
Train others slowly, but not on everything. Prepare for interviews.
FWIW, when I saw layoffs coming I ended up just coasting and doing almost nothing for two months. I assumed my project would get killed and my team mostly laid off. It was the right decision. My project wasn’t killed but I got cut. The people who remain are the unlucky ones.
Do the bare minimum
Bro not even Albertsons is safe in this economy
Yeah that was unusual. I'm really hoping statefarm starts layoffs too. We have some incredibly incompetent people and I don't care if I lose my job.

This
win win. directly or indirectly have an understanding with mngt on training/firing timeline. This timeline should be moderately paced so you can job hunt. You get more time to hunt. They get training.
Never train anyone. You are simply giving away your value. Even if they offer money - never train anyone.
Honestly, there's no value. You don't get paid to train and unless there's a guaranteed promotion, there's no monetary gain
Ask your manager if you are training your replacement.
This as well try to get a vibe even if he denies, ask in a casual manner
$5 million TC at Albertsons? This is peak Blind.
