What happens when most of your team is Indian?
[From a friends account because its too easy to be tracked from my org's account] Startups being startup - Salary data leaked due to an unrestricted spreadsheet and I realised my salary is highest at my level and way above my band. They want to bump it further just to retain me. I am an ex-googler, so I understand its for their branding. While this sounds dreamy, is it safe at all? In what ways, it can backfire me. (First to be fired, difficult to find next job?) I am planning to go back to Google. TC 550k - 400k (cash) + 150k equity Series C YOE 9
lol, ok bro. I make a billion a year too This is also from a friends account 😂
I am naive enough to not understand the pun here. Care to explain Elon!
Does ex Google have value anymore?
So you think one layoff is going to devalue all the googlers who worked there and built products that is used by the world.
Not about the recent layoff, the overall standard and the lower bar since a few years. There are thousands of average devs in G these days. I personally know backend engineers in Google who can't even understand basic stuff.
Pump it till you attain FIRE and who cares after that.
Whats your skillset, maybe you are underestimating yourself
Dude don’t worry about other people/co worker, not your problem. Take every dollar they’re willing to give you. Most startups will fail so make sure your golden parachute is in order.
400k plus 150k is 550k, no? To your question, the bigger issue would be resentment from others which may make it difficult for you to work with them.
No, equity is worth 0. Especially in a startup overpaying someone just to say they have an ex-Google.
