I have interviews at both Bloomberg and Amazon. Which team is better for SWE?
Please pick if you have worked in either or have heard things from people who work there.
MARS is one of the better places to work at Bloomberg and is a good group for raises/promotions That being said (outside of maybe WLB) Amazon is a much better place for an engineer to grow and advance their careers. Even if Bloomberg throws more money at you, 3-4 years from now if you are looking to move - you will have way more opportunities as an Amazon engineer
They used to have this guy from Google, Microsoft, and Two Sigma, and another from CMU, but the team leads who seem to have problems getting into other tech companies end up PIPing them. If you're not in the US, go for Bloomberg. Otherwise, go for FAANG.
Bloomberg is a great company for someone who cares about a good work life balance and a non toxic work environment.
Are people really saying Bloomberg is better than Amazon?
