🗳️POLL: In 2024, will Meta announce more layoffs to support stock price? Provide your comments for your selection. Stock is down over 15% in AH! 📉📉📉 Background: CFO clearly stated in Earnings call about an efficiency generating Optimization muscle 💪 built at Meta in 2023 and that they’ll put it to work to offset some of the AI related Capex and OpEx increases. Sounds like they already have a plan ! @meta #layoff #Meta #Google @google
Zuck will watch over you, son.
Yes, replace everyone with AI
Simple: just tie the hiring/layoff with stock price! When the price is up 1%, hiring 1% extra employees for the day. When it’s down 1%, firing 1% right away. That’s the efficiency blind and Wall Street is looking for.
Are you employed at Meta?
No, I’m an owner instead, owning a portion of the company through QQQ. They work for me to be exact, if that’s what you are looking for.
Meta will be leading the highest % layoff and highest % hire in big corps. Because we need to replace old blood with young blood..
Is there enough old blood left? Why not hire globally?
Is it true that Product Ops, HR, Finance, along with Corporate Tech functikns such as Corporate Engg, Legal Tech, Compliance Tech, etc are about to get offshore-d?
There will be minor layoffs. Nothing like last time. Just more efficient reductions like getting rid of TPMs
Triggered
Perhaps use levers similar to other majors? 1. Use offshore development workforce 2. Google’s lever - send Finance and Accounting work to Dublin, South America, Mexico City and India. 3. Any others?
