Balance long term and short term. That money will last a while if you travel cheaply but then you’ll be fucked and bankrupt. Are you a developer? You could pick up remote gigs from time to time

If you are a software engineer, build up a portfolio of work and reputation that will allow you to take on contract remote works. Then, change your career to follow your dreams if travelling, but continue to work from wherever you are. Think fo traveling as going to a place and do total immersion and live there for, say, the period of the time a project would take. Once when a project is done, packup, and travel to another new place and rinse and repeat. (I actually have friends who do this...) And with what you have right now you can't afford to retire and travel without working, so....

Yes no kids, US citizens. Both husband and wife are in high tech.

Keep in mind that may wear on you as well. Close friend has a job traveling which was her dream. She loved it for a number of years but says it’s starting to get old. And not the job part of it but the actual travel. And if anyone is wondering it’s not just travel throughout the US for business meetings. All over the world, exotic locations, and she typically will extend each trip so she only works for a portion of her time in said place. Then she gets to do all the tours/cruises/sightseeing of a normal trip. She’s hit over 80 countries at this point.

I’ve done a lot of travel and at some point it is definitely less novel. I remember the first time I went to Europe like yesterday, not so much the fifth.

What job is that?

Move to Germany, where 30 days of PTO is the average and people actually love traveling.
