Im a damn good coder. Only problem is that bloomberg has a broken dev process and i could really shine somewhere else if I left. If i leave. Would i get a lot more? If it is for 20-30k, i wouldnt want to leave, but for 300k i would leave, but would i also leave my awesome 9 to 5 behind? Im not just saying this, but i am great at coding. And bloomberv isnt giving me that opportunity. Perhals I should look at switching teams?
What’s ur YOE?
If you don’t feel challenged , leave. If you are good you would get what you deserve
Fix the broken dev process?
Yeah they dont known s*it when it comes to writing code. I was once told "i dont want to see another test"
I would have left on the spot
In my experience it would be very difficult to get a nice 9-5 in A-grade Silicon Valley company, so if you value that a lot don’t leave! In regards to money it depends where live right now (nyc?) and where you’d land.. Try to weight out cons/pros, GLHF!
Start by lining up 2-3 interviews. If you can get a reasonably higher salary, then maybe a good idea to leave.
There are no companies whose processes aren't broken! Get over that and enjoy life! That's an unnecessary frustration that isn't gonna do anything but make you miserable. I fixed processes once and the company died! Go enjoy that sunset!
Ok resume is gonna be fixed. F..... them jordan belfort style!
I dont know how to type the sounds he made in that song. Uh uh uh woump, uh uh woump...
Can I ask what team you're on? How are the MARS and client technology teams?
Apply to amazon. My team has so many ex Bloomberg employees lol. 15 years should get you sde3 which is minimum 300k
You obviously need to move on regardless.
