Any tips? It's been getting kinda bad lately, really don't want to work and find it hard to get myself to start, but once I get going I can deep dive and complete things pretty quick. I end up saying "oh I'll do in the evening", evening comes, "oh I'll do it in the morning", morning comes, "oh fuck need to wrap this up for sprint planning in 2 days fk fk fk". Being remote may be making it worse too but idk, I don't have an office (just do work on the couch). I do have days where I do good though, so not sure if I'm just in a bad place, or I really have adhd. Holidays and recession are also making it hard to motivate myself lol. So many confounding factors. TC 350k 4 yoe
For me it was low T levels. Then I roided up now I am jacked af and dont wanna work because I look like a god and feel like too
How'd you know you had low T?
Blood test.
You cant be 100% feeling motivated 24/7 all day, take days off, reorganize your priorities and you could listen to Dr. Andrew Huberman's podcast
Sir this is blind n not ur healthcare needs process. You need a licensed professional to check u out.
pretty normal. i always tell myself “okay starting next sprint i’m gonna do shit early so i don’t spend the last 48 hours of a sprint hauling ass” but it’s always the same result. last minute completion 😅
I think this is because of disinterest, not adhd. Same reason people do it in school. It’s hard to want to do things that aren’t interesting
Get off the couch and have a designated work space. I treat it like a job. I’m at my desk during work hours. When I try to work on the couch I have a hard time because that’s where I go to relax.
I feel the same. Expect that often after I start, there's not enough time to actually finish anymore. It could be a combination of Autism with ADHD. Understanding what's causing this is part of the solution, because then you can simply follow the established steps of what has helped other people who suffer from the same condition.
just start working, then it's easy to continue.
I face the same, but i just assume it's high end procrastination
Yeah that's what Im thinking. Lots of friends feel this way too, not sure if we all have ADHD or just dislike our jobs. Especially in tech where we manage all of our own time, unless there's a big crunch it's really easy to procastinate hard.
