They put 11,000 people out of jobs and less than 2 months later they make an acquisition? Such a kick in the balls for all the people that were laid off. Zuckerberg is a genuine piece of human đ© https://techcrunch.com/2022/12/30/meta-acquires-luxexcel-a-smart-eyewear-company/
Bad sign when companies canât innovate so they buy those that can. Canât wait to see how they inject malware, sorry I meant ads, into this.
Lol, going for the dumbest post of 2023?
I got the entire year to shit post but innovation and Meta arenât two words I think go together. Maybe if you add teenager depression or enabling genocide it might make more sense.
Meta stays relevant via its acquisitions (instagram, whatsapp, etcâŠ). They are wise to be laying off employees and increasing their acquisitions
Post TC
HAHAHA my company should tell you my TC bruv
Lmao ppl are so dumb
Capital allocation
Why should Zuckerberg care how laid off people feel? Maybe the layoffs were to cut down redundant roles or free up money for an acquisition. Zuckerberg has to do whatâs best for the business, not whatâs best for people.
Lmao, your comments shows just how horrible the human race has become
Lol what? Do you think Zuck has an obligation to keep you on even though youâre redundant? Or he shouldnât make business decisions that are not in your favor ?
As a finance bro I love how software bros donât know the differences between capital expenditures and expenses and how they show up on the financial statements
Still way too many people
i donât even think they fired 11k people yet
selling your startup to Meta >>> get a $$$ offer from meta
No, Meta isnât doing poor when it comes to printing money. It has just made some bad decisions w.r.t. the stock buyback + overspending on Metaverse. It makes sense for them to acquire companies + layoff people. Meta doesnât need as many employees. Itâs still double of what it had pre-COVID, which is ridiculous.
I thought that a company did layoffs when they were doing poorly financially. (Sarcasm, we all know he did layoffs befause he is the investors đ¶). Serves to show everyone that he affected 11,000 lives out of selfish greed reasons, what a complete dogđ© of a person
So, I personally left way before November layoffs. When I left, the company was too big IMO. For me, it wasnât great because too much scope reduction as an engineer and on top of that more emphasis on people, direction with reduced scope. I donât think layoffs were necessarily a bad move here even for the existing employees, though it does suck for impacted employees.
