I'm a bay area native and I love living here, but I can't justify spending 1.5 - 2M on a single house, even though I can afford it. I would rather live in 2-3 homes over the course of the year, chasing warm weather and avoiding snow/rain. I'm looking for ideas and places in the US and abroad to research so I'd love to hear from you Blinders. I'm looking for: Warm to moderate climate (no lengthy rain or snow seasons) Outside of a natural disaster zone (floods/tornadoes) 3+ bedrooms Large lots (1 acre+) Close to an airport (within 1 hour drive) Close Proximity to a city (within 1 hour drive) 400k USD max per home. TC: personal 330k, household 650k YOE: personal 13, household 25

Northern Florida west of Jacksonville and Tennessee for summer. Zero state income tax for both. Flying optional.
But both have property taxes? It seems like he can ignore income taxes and look for properties in states with little or no property taxes. Or am I wrong about this? š¬
When I lived in FL, this region was famous for cheap properties due to the high chance of sinkholes. Has something drastically changed? Or are people just buying there anyway?
