Yeah your browser is registered in their ad network(s). Clearing the cookies will help if the network is legit and does not use anything other than cookies to identify you.
There are many ways you can clear your history from Google, Facebook, Insta etc. You have to just go under setting and privacy. I'm not super technical but what I have heard is that digital marketing is not based on your device search history anymore, but also can use data provided by your ISP.
I get ads on FB INSTANTLY, 24 hours is too much. I search for masks, I get masks ads instantly as the 3rd result on my FB feed.
I swear to God sometimes I just think something and get ads about it.

Yes. We are being tracked without our direct knowledge and have been for years. Even if you turn off tracking cookies, they still track you as an unidentified profile based on all your online activities. If people only really knew how deeply they are tracked...
