What proficiency of Python do these Tech companies look for.. and are there any good resources I could use to learn for free?
I can speak from an analytics perspective. You'd need a solid understanding of data manipulation with pandas, experience with connecting to databases with sqlalchemy or data extraction with REST APIs with libraries like requests. Depending on the company you may also need proficiency with visualization libraries like plot.ly and machine learning libraries like scikit-learn or tensorflow.
