What's the avg annual bonus (% of base salary) analysts make per year?
When I started out, it was 100 percent of base. Base was 85, tc was 170. But worked 120 hour weeks, so hourly wage was prob close to min wage until you get your year end bonus
120 hr weeks? Wtf. Why would you EVER do that? The money isn’t good enough to warrant those hours.
Because they brainwash you in college to believe that it's the most prestigious job you can get out of a business degree in college, feed on your insecurity and tell you that this is like military boot camp and will transform you into an effective employee post the grind, and that your exit ops would be stellar after 3 years, and you'll be rich after you land a job on the buy side at some private equity shop or hedge fund. Basically, if you don't have a passion in college, and follow the herd, you tend to end up in one of these places given the supposed high prestige value and allure of money. Then once you're there, they trap you by dangling a big bonus in front of you and threatening to give you no bonus if you don't put in 120 hour weeks. And by then, your view of the world is so narrow that you start to believe everything they tell you. And so you're fucked
You pay your dues then you become directors and earn shit ton
What's the TC for directors
Rev share amongst the deal commissions you bring in. 1 percent of a billion dollar deal is 10 million. Do a few of those a year and youre set
The big money is not at the analyst level, but at VPs and beyond..
