Hey everyone, I’m about to graduate college in May 2023 and I went pretty hard in applying to jobs for when I graduate. Right now I have 2 offers, with oracle netsuite and IBM federal Business transformation services. IBM: 86k base 5k bonus Oracle: 75k base 5k bonus I know IBM pays more but other factors are also very important to me and I would like to know as much info as possible. Please share any positive or negative experience you’ve had with these companies. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated #consulting #
That's a big pay difference at your age. Think about how much the $10K will compound to if you have the self control to save it.
And invest it as $6K in a Roth IRA. You don't want tax on all those gains eventually
I worked for IBM in the 1980’s and I am now with Oracle NetSuite. What I do know about IBM is that in the 80’s, it was an outstanding place to start in tech following college. Back then, they never did layoffs. Management took good care of us and there was plenty of opportunity to learn more and try different things. I spent two years learning Quality Assurance and then moved into Computer-Aided drafting and Finite Element Analysis. I also really enjoy my present work at NetSuite. They are among the most profitable and successful Oracle organizations. Raises, promotions and bonuses are not the best in the industry.. but the work and the people are great. Good Luck!
Accept both. You dont know which will exist in may. Too many layoffs
