I'm currently working as a Backend Development intern in IBM systems. Due to internal team redeployments within IBM systems there is no chance for conversion. But I am actively looking for internal team migration. If any of the teams in IBM(any business unit) are hiring for internal roles, please let me know. #engineering #software #swe #ibm #backend
You can also find out who to recruiter (Talent Acquisition Partner) is for the role and reach out to them as well.
It's really difficult. A friend of mine was on bench for 9 months and ended up just leetcoding those months and left to a financial institution.
I would keep an eye out on the internal job postings/ job recommendations! I’ve interviewed internally for another team, and I’ve been the interviewer for someone doing the same thing. Usually I think you’ll at least get an interview, so in that way it’s easier. But, I’ve interviewed people who thought they had it in the bag just because they also worked at IBM. They came off as cocky and their work was sub par and we didn’t hire them. When I interviewed for another team, I put as much effort into what I presented as I did anywhere else, although it was a bit easier in that the person interviewing me could see the value in my work a bit more clearly. Good luck!
I have been applying for many development roles on internal jobs as my current role is also a developer role. The job description matches my profile exactly, even then it's been more than a month, still not even getting a call. I have applied for many positions that exactly fit me, Every application goes into review and later shows no longer under consideration. I'm not sure why that would be the case.....
I have also been really proactive too and reached out to them as well. You could try reaching out to the hiring manager or someone on their team saying “I saw this position was open on your team, and I’m really interested in learning more about this role!” Or something like that. That’s what I’ve done in the past.
