IBM is a dinosaur

It was a managed presto DB company, no real innovation, one of the founders left last year, I wonder who got a little bit of money from this
Databricks didn't want to sell, so they went with someone else.
IBM canāt afford databricks
Yea I donāt see this anywhere
Databricks is way ahead in data lake and warehouse. It can only retain its customers.
Anything IBM buys will turn into ashes , for example Lotus Notes was way ahead of its time was bought by IBM and innovation ended , MS office that came much later killed it. Greenplum , informix , Cognos , Clear Case so many great products died . RedHat is well on its way to death now
Lotus Notes on the lakehouse would be a killer product
Any idea the amount at which it was sold for ? IBM could have very well bought Starburst instead - not sure why did they go for Ahana.
IBM has a history of buying like 5th place player in a field for peanuts and getting a good value. Starburst is doing pretty well so they couldn't get a premium
