IBM base pay
What is the base pay for a band 8 software engineer at IBM (SVL) ? and what’s the average time span to get a promotion from band 7 to band 8. Current TC: 145k

SVL - Base pay for band 8 starts at 152k. If you're making 145k as a band 7 you're literally at the end of the range as a SWE. Usually on the swe track it varies anywhere from 2yrs - 5yrs. But frankly it depends on your upper mgmt. What org are you in?

pay has recently been adjusted. Myself and other band 8s being paid close to 180k. For me it took 2 years. Others in my it took anywhere from 1-3 years.

True. My management in Engineering said on average it takes 6 years for band 7 to band 8 for employees who perform well.
