FWIW, I knew a lot of students who were absolutely hyped about working for Watson. They knew they couldn’t make it to a FANG and wanted to stay near home and save money by living with their parents. Disclaimer IBM funded a huge part of our CS program so they always had recruiting events.
In a way true. 150k all cash for a BS is decent. But most of them fly off to FG in a couple of years.
Why? IBM tops the list for most patent grants for the last few years. This kind of headline is totally believable.

I’m 23 and work for IBM. Of all my peers/ friends in the workforce, IBM was the best job offer (compensation, responsibility, autonomy, opportunity, etc) and most coveted company to work for by a landslide. These negative and antiquated perceptions of the “old IBM” aren’t universal among new graduates and the incoming workforce
