IBM TC: 86k base 5k bonus - DC (hometown) Oracle TC: 75k base 5k bonus - Denver Both entry level positions in development programs #netsuite #salesforce #consulting #IBM #Oracle #ERP #CRM #Federal #Tech #Denver #WashingtonDC
Honesty both sound cool congrats, but you’re gonna feel that pay difference all things being equal
Whichever is more SWE take that if you think you enjoy coding and can work really hard!
Come to Denver, fun stuff here
Depends what you call fun
Hiking, concerts, skiing/snowboarding, cycling, etc
Ditch IBM.. not sure about oracle culture though
I only picked DC because you have Acela and can go to lots of places whereas Denver is landlocked. But I think oracles on up and up vs ibm
Ibm is great for coasting.
Doesn't ibm have a service based company culture in the US? In India you're supposed to be working for a client - banks etc with shit tech stack and pathetic culture - while it depends on the client you get but in general i feel going to a service based company is not that great is it ?
IBM has moved heavily to consulting and is now a competitor to Accenture. But they do develop there own technologies, ie hybird cloud, AI, Stuff in the quantum computing space
Recommend IBM. Given current macro economic conditions, IBM is positioned very strongly, plus there in on going internal hiring, definitely see a change in culture for the better
What’s the reputation like for IBM federal consulting?
Oracle culture is in the pooper, but it’s a much stronger company overall having worked for both. I think 75k in Denver goes further than 86k in DC but not certain.
SWE or sales role?
IBM is pure consulting and oracle is more swe
Hmm, I’ve heard good things about oracle. Seems like a good culture too.
