IOS apps vs Android apps from a development perspective

iOS apps seem to ‘just work’ out of the box and many apps are released first and are better supported on iOS. I assume this is because iOS apps make more money per user (sometimes much more) and are cheaper to develop due to less device fragmentation and every iOS user being on the latest version. iOS and Android developers, what are you thoughts?

I think you nailed it with higher money per user, and less fragmentation in regards to both devices and versions

But at every company I’ve been to, Android devs have been much happier than iOS devs. Thanks G for the tooling & support

Don’t the Android devs have to do more testing though to support all device sizes?

Yes. And I’m not sure what tooling and support? What IDE and CI system does Google provide for Android?

Basically.
