Spent first few years of my career doing entreprenurial work and sales. Then worked at F500 for R&D industrial technologies. Hands on + strategy and roadmaps. Learned a ton, also demonstrated leadership and grew to management. More of a technical manager, but also hands on. COVID hits - ship sinks - bounce to a startup to develop my IT side. Implemented 3 systems (2x ERP and PLM). Built up a manufacturing operation, and built infra for manufacturing facility....this helped me really understand the whole IT/OT spectrum. Need to leave startup as funding is drying up....and have always reported to C level guys. I want to remain a director or senior manager....but job postings are either: - too specific, and not sure I fit in - heavily favors software eng. (which I'm good at - but not a SWE) - Worried my senority won't be respected (senior manager / director) - I am excellent at planning, troubleshooting, scoping and managing all the way through (both functionally, and as an advisor)....being IT/OT helps me connect the dots in integration very well.... My network is weak - F500 was toxic - 9 bosses in 7 ears - and startup is riddled with prejudice and discrimination....no joke. How do I break through? MS of DS, B. Eng., BA, Journalism
