I just got a new offer !! Woohoo! I can't express enough how happy I am!! Now I have about $1,800 to spend in home office equipment. Here is what I am thinking: - 27" display UHD, $300-400 (I have a 16" macbook and I think this is enough as second screen. I don't have space for more) - Black only printer + scanner with document feeder (mine is a color officejet that costs a fortune in cartridges), $? - Keyboard, $20-80 A few things I already have but could consider upgrading: - Mouse (currently using magic mouse) - Docking station (it doesn't charge macbooks over 80W,... it works well but it's a bit outdated) I am satisfied with the following things and have zero plans to upgrade: - A good computer - A nice chair - A nice 60" lifting desk What should I buy? I know it's first world problems, and I don't need to use up the budget... if $400 is all I need, it's all I'll spend. A few things I won't buy and expense: - Under desk treadmill - Video games - Cellphone - Tablet 370
Headphones / airpods Table fan / heater Standing desk Wireless chargers Just some ideas ! Congratulations
I bought a cheap one (less than $200) and regularly use it. I am quite happy with it.
spend more on a good keyboard and do a mouse upgrade, get an adjustable arm for your monitor and a basic stand for the laptop, and pay more for a better screen
Good idea. I actually have a 16" macbook that is more than enough as a second screen. Any recommendations for mouse/keyboard? I have an apple magic trackpad and a microsoft natural keybard.
Logitech mx 3s
I’d budget more for a nice mechanical keyboard. Suppose it’s personal preference but imo mechanical keyboards are 🤌🏼😮💨
Yeah but don't buy Corsair. Their products are shit, they look fancy but stop working after 2 years or so.
which brands to consider? I prefer quieter keyboards bc I take a lot of notes in meetings and don't want to be the loud guy
TC?
Logitech mx keyboard Logitech mx master mouse (ergo reasons) Gel wrist pads for keyboard and mouse Foot rest Better chair Reconsider a dual monitor set up. Add changing light colors for your desk for different work conditions
light colors ok! I didn't think about that, but I definitely need it! My work desk is the same as my fun desk... so I def need different colors. Any recommendations? ok maybe I'll start with a 27" display with my 16" macbook... I can't fit two 27" displays on my desk. Maybe two 24's... but i think I'd miss the one larger screen.
Phillips hue stuff is pricey but works so much better than the random brands all over Amazon
Logitech K650 keyboard $50
Get urself a bamboo chair with a cooth cushion which allows ur body to be aerated while maintaining proper posture ...leather and office chairs are injurious to ur back
MX Master Mouse is way better than Magic Mouse. A good set of headphones. A good webcam. Those are necessary. I use the high end Sony’s for headphones, but AirPod Max works well, and Logitech Brio as my webcam (I try to stay on camera as much as possible). Unnecessary but great: microphone with swing arm. It makes your voice come off very clear and makes it so much better on everyone else. You can put it away when you’re not in meetings. Mechanical keyboard is worth it. I use Keychron. If you spend a lot of odd hours working at home, some lighting would be helpful. I’d also get a USB hub and an external drive in case you ever need to transfer things.
